Mud/hme
Publication
DELIVERABLES: 8.5in x 8.5in Book - 6 Spreads
PROGRAM: Indesign
An 8.5in x 8.5in coffee table publication displaying an ode to mud homes. Mud homes are traditional dwellings constructed primarily using mud or clay as the main building material. Although this technique has been around for centuries the architecture has evolved to showcase sustainable practices and contemporary design principles.
PROJECT OVERVIEW
Throughout the book you see shapes that look like arches you would see in mud-built homes. The arches concept visually represents the construction of these buildings and ties the design together.

type treatment
The primary font used in this publication is Josefin Sans. This font was chosen due to its wide geometric lettering. Many of the letters including M, U, & D have beautiful arches that match the aesthetic of many mud-built homes. The secondary font is a serif called Playfair Display. This font is elegant with lots of contrast to elevate the design and is easy to read. Crimson text is the tertiary font which complements but does not clash with the primary and secondary font.
